Working with DME-compatible mold requirements
Many US projects reference DME components, North American mold conventions or a customer-specific tooling standard. When these requirements are stated in the RFQ, our engineers can review them against the mold design and procurement plan. The approved specification should identify the required mold base, locating ring, sprue bushing, water fittings, electrical connectors, hot-runner interface and replacement component expectations.
We do not assume that one standard fits every program. Automotive, appliance, packaging and industrial parts may have different validation and maintenance priorities. The quotation and design review are therefore based on the actual part geometry, resin, production volume and receiving factory requirements.
What to include in a US injection mold RFQ
A complete RFQ helps reduce clarification cycles and allows suppliers to compare the same technical scope. We recommend providing:
- STEP, IGES, Parasolid or another usable 3D part file, plus 2D drawings when available.
- Resin grade, color, shrinkage requirement and any approved material alternatives.
- Annual volume, planned shots, cavity target and expected mold life.
- Target injection molding machine, tie-bar spacing and shot capacity.
- Preferred runner, gate, ejection, texture and surface-finish requirements.
- DME or customer mold standard, including fittings and electrical interfaces.
- Inspection dimensions, sample quantity, packaging and shipment destination.

Engineering communication across time zones
Remote tooling programs work best when decisions are recorded clearly. For each project, the customer and supplier should agree on the main contact, drawing revision, approval gates and response format. Marked-up images, dimensional reports and trial notes are useful because they connect each issue to a specific tool area or part feature.
US customers can also specify whether the mold will be shipped to their plant, sent to a designated molder or used for production in Vietnam. The destination changes the validation scope, connector choices, spare-part plan and export preparation, so it should be confirmed early.

Yes. We can review available 3D data and identify missing material, volume, machine and tooling-standard inputs. Final scope and price require an agreed technical specification.
Can the mold use DME components?
DME-compatible or customer-specified components can be reviewed when the exact component requirements are included in the RFQ. Availability and approved alternatives should be confirmed before tool release.
Do you provide mold trials before export?
Mold trials and sample review can be included in the project plan. The required sample quantity, inspection scope and approval criteria should be agreed at quotation stage.
Can you support production molding in Vietnam?
